Because of the strategic situation in the Near East, Egypt is a priority partner country in German and international Development Cooperation. CIM, too, has a larger programme in Egypt than in other countries in the region. CIM is working to expand future cooperation, particularly in private sector promotion, vocational training and waste management. In response to the request of partners with special development policy relevance, CIM is also working in the field of Egyptian culture. An integrated expert is supporting the Supreme Council of Antiquities in training curators. Here CIM uses its scope for action outside development policy priority areas. With the Returning Experts Programme, CIM also supports, as it has for years, numerous Egyptian experts returning to Egypt after studying, undertaking vocational training or working in Germany. Most of them become university lecturers, principally in technical subjects. Would you like to find out more about CIM’s programmes and partners in Egypt?
