ColombiaCIM’s strategic activities in Colombia take place mainly in the development policy priority areas agreed between Colombia and Germany: peace building and conflict prevention.Securing peace and avoiding conflict are central to the development of Colombia. Therefore, CIM’s activities in this priority area are multifaceted and comprehensive. Urban neighbourhood renewal can contribute as much to keeping peace as improvement of vocational training opportunities. In the future, CIM will also promote supraregional organisations working out of Colombia. For security reasons, CIM presently places Integrated Experts only in cities offering a safe working environment. Access to rural regions remains difficult. With the Returning Experts Programme, CIM also supports, as it has for years, numerous Colombian experts returning to Colombia after studying, undertaking vocational training or working in Germany.
