Your contract
Your work as an Integrated Expert is connected with German Development Cooperation; yet at the same time you are integrated into local structures on site. What this means specifically is that:
- You are hired by a partner-country employer and enter into a contract with that employer.
- You receive from your employer a salary that is acceptable by local standards. CIM supports this employment relationship by topping up your salary and participating in payments to the German social security system.
- As a rule, your contract is for two years; however, this period may be extended. Contracts for Young Professionals are for one to two years, but may also be extended.
- Your employer assists you with immigration formalities and sees to it that your workplace has the furnishings and equipment you need.
- Your vacation and working time conform to customary practice in the country of your assignment. There are, however, minimum and maximum limits in accordance with German labour standards.
